So today I have been working very hard on this site, because it needed some major reorganization, updates, and other miscellaneous things. Why today? Because I am sending out my marketing postcards today as well! Or at least, if Murphey's Law doesn't interfere I will be. As you can also see, these updates are now in a section called "Blog", which means that I will be using this area just like a normal blog to tell you all of great things I have done in far more detail. Right now I'm not using any fancy software for it, like Wordpress or Thingamablog, but someday I'd like to. It's just going to take a lot of finagling to make it work with my website seamlessly, so please bear with me a bit for now. I know this isn't the prettiest nor easiest way to have a blog, but I promise it will get better! I just need the time to figure out the software before I move over to a different system.

The site needed some serious attention! As you can see, a lot of things have been added, and there is new content to view. I hope that the minor re-design helps with your navigation of the site, and makes it more pleasing to visit! If you want to let me know what you think, feel free to email me. In the mean time, please enjoy all the new imagery I have to offer, and look forward to all the stuff I am still shooting! There will be pleanty more to look at in due time. So many photos to take and to retouch, so little time!
Today at the very least though, I had a new photo to place up in the pets section, and several for the fine arts gallery. I also added a projects section to the fine arts area, and now my b+w flower project can be found in its own section. I thought it might be a bit easier that way, rather then just continuing to add them to the one area. Weddings have been taken down from my site, as I don't feel a very strong pull to photograph them anymore, unless for a very special occassion. I am far happier photographing families and couples, so if that's what you're looking for then I'm still available to you!

So this past Sunday I was hired by
Tiny Dogs Meet to head out and do some candids and posed shots of all their little dogs playing together. It was a BLAST! I never would have thought I'd have so much fun, so it was nice to be hired to attend such a great "pawty". If you live in the upstate area and have a tiny dog (5-12 pounds) then you should definitely check these people out and get in touch with them! It's a great group, and everyone is super nice--even the dogs! As such from attending this meet, I of course have some more photos up in the pet section of the site for your viewing pleasure. :)
I have also been doing more with the b+w flowers. They don't have their own section as of yet, but I am seriously considering having a branch for them off of the finearts section of this site. I am also going to be creating a small book of them coupled with inspirational quotes, so if you really enjoy the photos, consider purchasing the book when it's ready!

Really been working hard at the photography lately! This past Saturday I had a session very early in the morning with a couple who needed engagement portraits done. You can find them in the revamped wedding section of the site, which has been modified to include the timeless moments of engagement portraiture now as well. Aside from that, this coming Sunday I have a photoshoot with a group of dog enthusiasts who are having a puppy party. So there will definitely be some imagery from that as well. In my not-so-copious amounts of spare time, I've been working more on my fineart stuff, and have more black+white flower photography for you in that section. I'm thinking this is a very good series for me to be doing. I also have some still lifes planned, so be watching for those as well! AND! If you are still looking for senior portraits, contact me! I still have availability for those who need it.

I have been out doing some photography as of late, and there are a few new images in the fineart gallery for you to take a look at! I am also editing some others as we speak, and have several shoots lined up for this month! Definitely look forward to those images! I will first be doing some engagement work, and after that I am doing some pet stuff. All promises to be worth viewing.
I am still open for senior portrait sessions as well, so if you're interested, let me know!

Congrats to the class of 2009! Good luck on your journeys that are starting now, and my best wishes to all of you who have decided to continue your education and will be attending college in the fall.
Class of 2010! Contact me about your Senior Portraits! Let's create something wonderful and memorable together for your final year of high school!
In actual photo news, I have updated the fine arts gallery. Been doing a lot of that sort of stuff lately, now that the weather is nice. Hoping to do some more portrait work in the near future as well. I also am trying to work out the home based studio again since Inpakuto-ryu did have to close its doors to the bad economy. No worries though, a plan has been devised and we are putting it into action. Theoretically it will work, but that's not saying too much. Cross your fingers, I know I am. Thankfully, it's not a far fetched idea, so things will eventually come together.
Enjoy!

As promised, I have updated some new stuff to my Fine Art gallery. You'll see some infrared photos, and some black and whites that utilize the fog filters I have. Also, I am going to have some work displayed for sale at the
Hair Art Salon and Spa in Saratoga Springs. Be sure to head over there and check it out if you get the chance!

It's senior portrait time! That means it's time to start finding the right photographer for you, or your son/daughter to capture this important time in life. I currently have availability to do these sessions, but don't hesitate or you may not get the time you desire. We can be indoors, outdoors, traditional, non-traditional--you name it, we can attempt it! I'd also like to thank Steven Hull of
Inpakuto-ryu for allowing me to use some of the space in the dojo's back room as a studio, since currently my home-based one has been uprooted due to renovations.
In other good photography news, for my birthday I received both a fog filter set, and an infrared filter. I'm incredibly excited to try both out, and to share the results with everyone. Look forward to seeing some awesome new imagery in fine art over the next month!

In the spirit of keeping major school photographs together, I have now expanded the senior section of portraits to also include those from prom, and have added some prom photos to the gallery. Please take a look and I hope that you enjoy them. If you would like for me to do your son or daughters prom or senior portraits, please don't hesitate to contact me!

So over the past two months I have been taking a few photos here and there, and really studying my martial arts and self defense at
Inpakuto-ryu. During that time I just haven't been concentrating on my passion as much, but I promise to get back in the habit of taking plenty of photos now that the weather has turned super nice! I have a feeling that this is going to be a great year for photography.
My 20th birthday is actually this Friday, which I am very excited about, and at the same time sad. I'm leaving my teens!!! But, I'm fairly certain that I'm getting an infrared filter for my birthday, which will be awesome. I already got a special effects fog filter, which I need to test out. Perhaps today, since my work meeting has been cancelled. We shall see, that's for sure.
This update though, I have some new stuff in portraits, pets, and fine art. Just been playing around and doing some small stuff. I've also sold a couple of fine art prints, which is pretty cool. If you're interested in purchasing one, shoot me an email and I'll get it right out to you! It's also senior portrait time, so make sure to contact me for those as well if you enjoy my work! I'm a traveling photographer, so we can make them as unique as you would like!

Hello and welcome to version two of Photographic Phantasy! To start off I'd like to say thank you to all my friends that helped me out with proofing and coding, and whatever else silly things I was concerned about that I asked them to please take a look at. You guys are life savers and helped make this whole thing possible.
The border of negatives you see on the left is my latest creative spark, and is actually a set of negatives from when I was in High School taking my photography course. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do, and the excellent colours it offered for the theme of this site. After all, I am a creature of colour and can't stand a black and white website. So the splash of colour that it offers makes my day, and I hope it makes yours as well.
Those of you that have been visiting this site since version one will also notice some changes in how things work. I have gotten rid of scrolling boxes, and have moved to scrolling pages instead. I think that this will help in making browsing easier, and the page more compatible with all resolutions. I've also gone to a flash viewer for all of the photos in the galleries, so if you do not have the latest version of flash, you will not be able to view the images. Sorry about that, but it's more user-friendly, and the easiest way to integrate the photos into my webpage and allow for them to also size to the resolution and not to what dimensions I set them for only.
I have also chosen different photographs to place in the galleries, and have become more selective where I was able. Plus, I have added in photos that I never updated into version one. So there is plenty of new stuff to view as well. I hope that you enjoy all of it!
This home page is going to serve as a site/photo blog of sorts as well. I will not keep all of the updates on here, but rather the most recent, and the previous one only. I'm not sure if I am going to include an archive or not, but I might. I'm debating on setting up an external blog to detail my photographic adventures rather than placing them on here. I'm thinking it'd be easier.
If you have any comments or concerns with my page, please feel free to contact me and let me know!
Thanks!
-Samantha
